ABOUT EQUIHAVEN

Hey! My name is Steven Caley

  • Minimalist Thank You Circle Label (2)

A former Olympic Dressage groom, entrepreneur, and dedicated advocate for grooms—but above all, a lifelong horse enthusiast with an unwavering passion for the equestrian world!

Born and raised on the Isle of Man (don’t worry, I know not everyone’s heard of it!), I grew up full of passions and interests (sorry, Mum & Dad). My path could’ve taken many directions, and trust me, it did. From music to football, I’ve always loved diving into new opportunities to learn and grow within different communities. But through it all, one thing stayed constant: horses.

Even though I wasn’t born into a "horsey" family, I followed my passion. It led me to move countries twice, obtain a First-Class BSc Honours degree in Equestrian Sports Science from Hartpury College (UK), and pursue elite-level dressage in the Netherlands. My journey eventually brought me to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where I groomed for the bronze medal-winning British Dressage Team, and later the European Championships and World Cup Finals.

Like many of you, I know firsthand the ups and downs this incredible lifestyle brings. The heartbreaks, the feeling of pushing a boulder uphill—if you’ve been there, I get it. I’ve experienced it all: poor pay, "dream jobs" that went nowhere, difficult work environments, and those exhausting days that leave you burned out. Sound familiar?

But don’t worry—there’s hope! And I think I might have something that can help...

WELCOME TO EQUIHAVEN

EquiHaven is a platform created by a groom, for grooms. It’s a safe haven where equestrian workers can feel supported, nurtured, and enriched. And it’s not just for a select few—we’re here for everyone, no matter your discipline, age, or experience level. Our philosophy? Work together and Aspire to Inspire.

You might be wondering: how can EquiHaven help me? Let’s take a walk on a long rein and explore...

The idea for EquiHaven was born after I stepped back from international grooming. It’s amazing how a little reflection can reignite passion. I realised I wanted to create something I wish I’d had: a place that takes a holistic look at the groom’s lifestyle and offers support every step of the way.

Let’s face it: working with horses isn’t just a job—it’s a lifestyle. Yes, we’ve all seen the challenges, but it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s why EquiHaven provides multiple support options for personal and professional growth. We’re full of ideas—whether you need a positive work environment, quick and easy diet options, grooming tips, or help with settling your mind, we’re here to lend a hand.

And I know how tough it can be trying to make ends meet while working in this industry. That’s why we’re committed to offering monthly, informative, and supportive content at an affordable price—like the cost of just a couple of cups of coffee. Even better, we do the legwork to source insights from global professionals who can inspire you to become the best version of yourself.

At EquiHaven, we believe that anyone can achieve their dreams, both in and out of the equestrian world. Whether you have other passions, feel overwhelmed, or just want to learn from others, we’ve got you covered.

Remember, working with horses is a privilege, and there’s so much to love about the equestrian world. We’re here to "shake things up" a little and help grooms and equestrian workers feel happier, more supported, and acknowledged.

OUR MISSION, YOUR SUCCESS
